Bio

Katrina Welch serves as Vice President - Tax -- Solera, delivering strategic tax planning by working closely with the business entities to drive lower effective global tax rates and operational initiatives, as well as leading tax policy, controversy, compliance, and reporting.

Prior, as NA Director of Tax – Gordon Food Service, she provided strategic leadership for all aspects of the tax function across the North American operations of the business and privately held corporate matters.

Katrina served before that as Vice President Tax – International and Global Transfer Pricing for Ecolab, responsible for planning, provision, compliance, controversy, and mergers and acquisitions.

Previously, she was Vice President and Tax Director for Texas Instruments, responsible for administration of TI’s tax matters, including public policy issues involving taxation. And prior to that, Tax Counsel and Compliance Director for Texas Instruments, where she advised the Tax Department, Corporate Finance and Operations, in areas such as International Corporate Structuring, Controversy, and HR Compensation, and oversaw the U.S. Federal and State Income and Franchise Tax function, as well as International compliance filings with the IRS.

Before joining Texas Instruments, Katrina was Tax Director at Digital Convergence, and then Entrust and Kaneb (both publicly traded), and earlier she was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, all in Dallas.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas in Austin and her JD and LLM in Tax from Southern Methodist University.

Katrina serves as a Tax Executives Institute Past International President, a member of the Board and former member of the Executive Committee, member of the U.S. International Tax and Financial Reporting Committees, and past Diversity Task Force Chair. She is also Chair of the IRS Advisory Council, LB&I Subgroup, and a Texas Federal Tax Institute board member. 

Past presentations include the National Institute for Women Corporate Counsel, Baker McKenzie North American Tax Practice Group, K&L Gates Women in the Profession Pathways to Leadership, Hewlett Packard Global Tax Women’s Network, KPMG U.S. Cross-Border Tax Conference, PwC China International Tax Forum, Deloitte Future Tax Leaders Academy, GWU/IRS Annual Current Issues in International Taxation, Federal Bar Association Tax Law Conference, American Bar Association Midyear Meeting, Michigan Women’s Tax Association Annual Conference and the University of North Carolina Tax Symposium.

Katrina is also a member of Dallas First Presbyterian Church, Young Men's Service League Plano Chapter, and U.S. Naval Academy Parents Club of North Texas.
