On the heels of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), this panel will revisit some of the fundamental corporate tax considerations associated with common transactions, including capital contributions, financing issues, and corporate reorganizations and other intercompany transactions that remain a vital part of U.S. tax planning.

1:45 – 2:30 pm: Introduction and Overview of Taxation of CFC Income and Cash Repatriation

This panel will introduce and discuss the three major categories of CFC income (GILTI, Subpart F Income, and Residual Income), including section 960 foreign tax credit utilization, the Subpart F income and GILTI high-tax exceptions, issues associated with the section 245A DRD. The panel will also discuss some practical issues associated with cash distributions and repatriations from CFCs.
2:30 – 3:15 pm: State and Local Taxation (SALT) Update: Post TCJA and Wayfair

This panel will present an overview of the changes at the state level that have taken place since the enactment of the TCJA and the Supreme Court's Wayfair decision. The panel will also discuss other SALT-related developments aside from TCJA (e.g., unclaimed property litigation, audit trends, transfer pricing audit activities, etc.)
