September 26th Chapter Meeting Hosted by RSM

Dear TEI Member & Guests:

We are pleased to announce our first TEI Chapter meeting will be on Thursday, September 26th in McLean, VA. Registration begins at 1:30 PM and the meeting starts at 2:00 PM. The meeting will be hosted by RSM at their McLean Office, address provided below. RSM's tax specialists will present on a variety of state and local tax topics, as well as global mobility issues. Immediately following the presentations, please join us for a Happy Hour with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the RSM office. This is a great opportunity to network with your fellow TEI members and guests.

Below is the agenda and CPE details for the meeting. For TEI members who have paid the $125 annual Chapter season pass, there is no additional charge for this event.  Please register by clicking on this season pass holder link. If you have not yet paid for the season pass, you can pay it at this meeting by check or credit card. Otherwise, the cost of the meeting is $20 per person (member or guest).

PROGRAM LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the program, participants should:

  • Receive a general update on significant state and local tax issues
  • Understand the implications of Tax Reform on state income taxes
  • Understand the difference between Market vs Cost of Performance sales apportionment
  • Understand current state credit opportunities and gross receipts tax issues
  • Receive a general update on indirect tax topics, including sales & use tax, withholding tax, and personal property taxes
  • Understand the tax issues related to global mobility


COURSE LEVEL & PREREQUISITES

The program will be at the intermediate level.


SPEAKER MATERIALS AND BIOS

The Baltimore-Washington TEI Chapter is committed to environmental conservation.  Our events will be paperless.  The speaker materials and their biographical information will be posted to our Chapter’s Public website on TEI Connect in advance of the meeting.   


RECOMMENDED CPE CREDIT

The professional education credit (NASBA) to be awarded will be 3.5 hours. The instructional delivery method is group-live. There are no prerequisites, and no advance reading or preparation is required. An attendance record will be maintained.
