Insights on GCC - A view from Howard Hull, Tax Strategy Advisor to the Al-Futtaim Group

When:  Nov 30, 2021 from 16:00 to 17:30 (CET)
Associated with  EMEA Chapter Public Community

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States have been undergoing a fundamental tax transformation over recent years.

Whilst they have successfully maintained their position as tax-competitive jurisdictions, they have recently introduced a number of direct and indirect taxes. They have also managed to significantly enhance their tax treaty networks whilst respecting their international commitments with new base erosion and profit shifting measures, as well as new measures to enhance transparency and exchange of information. These have all had a significant effect on international cross-border investments.

Howard R. Hull will be sharing his experiences in the GCC as an 'International Tax Partner', a 'Group Tax Director', and now as a 'Tax Strategy Advisor' to one of the most prominent family conglomerates in the region.

In addition to his insights on tax management in the region, Howard will be addressing one or two topics from each the following themes:

              - GCC Tax Overview

              - International Tax Treaties

              - International Value Added Tax

              - Base Erosion and Profit Shifting

              - Transparency and Exchange of Information

This event will be moderated by Nick Hasenoehrl, Jesús Ricart and Gorka Echevarría
