16th Annual TEI-Sponsored LB&I Northeastern Compliance Practice Area Conference

The Tax Executives Institute – New York Chapter is once again partnering with the IRS to bring you LB&I Northeastern Compliance Area updates on a variety of topics.

This year, we will have four plenary sessions

Among the highlights of this year's conference:

  • LB&I Examination Process Update: Barbara Harris, Director of NECPA, Catherine Jones, Director of Field Operations for the North Atlantic and Delon Harris, Director of Field Operations- Middle Atlantic will provide LB&I Examination Process Updates.
  • Global Tax Issues Update: John Hughes, Director of Advance Pricing and Mutual Agreement and Justin Campolieta, Special Trial Attorney will be part of a panel discussion on global tax issues including BEPS, Transfer Pricing and Corporate Inversions.
  • The New Partnership Audit Rules – A discussion with Drita Tonuzi (Deputy Chief Counsel) and Joy Gerdy-Zogby (Counsel).
  • Appeals Changes and Updates – Resolution Tools and Methods as well as an Update on Appeals with Reinhard Schmuck, Program Manager of Appeals and Paul Darcy, Senior Counsel.

Please see the attached draft program for details, including the distinguished group of practitioners who will be participating in the panel discussions

The Conference also allows for numerous opportunities for networking and one-on-one interaction during breakfast, coffee breaks and lunch.

The conference will be held at the Ted Weiss Federal Building, 290 Broadway, 30th floor. Space is very limited in the facility and consequently, attendance generally - and in particular at the breakout sessions - will be on a first come, first served basis. I urge you to mark your calendar and plan to attend this event. New York CPE credits will be awarded to participants. The draft agenda is attached. To register, go to: https://tei-irs-annualconference91917.eventbrite.com.

With the inclusion of TEI chapters outside the New York metropolitan area the conference will take on more importance and be even more productive and informative. We look forward to seeing you on September 19. Please contact me, TEI chair of the conference, should you have any comments or questions.
