  • Sam Stephens - Seasoned Indirect Tax Manager Seeking New Position

    I have extensive experience through a long tenure at a very large, complex and sophisticated multinational manufacturer operating in every state in the U.S.  This includes compliance, audits, appeals, planning and incentives in both sales & use and property tax.  In addition, I was responsible for identifying and resolving indirect tax issues with our M&A due diligence, acquisition integration and complex internal corporate reorganizations.  I have several years of soup-to-nuts experience with Canadian transaction taxes as well, and a foundational knowledge of VAT in Europe and Latin America.  I also have demonstrated skills in directing the efforts of a large team of tax professionals.

    I am open to full- or part-time project/contract work, as well as a permanent position.  The Portland, OR metro area is home, but I am open to relocation as well.

    The Silicon Valley Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute has 400+ members representing over 165 companies. Our membership includes in-house tax professionals working in Silicon Valley and the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area. Our members are business executives who are responsible for taxation matters on an administrative or policy-making level, or whose work is otherwise primarily concerned with the challenges of business taxation.
